Members of Parliament have recommended overhauling the BBC's funding model. They recommend lowering costs and expanding funding to include areas beyond television. MPs also suggest abolishing the BBC's charter renewal and preventing the broadcaster from undercutting commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to address the BBC's operational difficulties as it faces a critical decision point. The recommendations come amid continuous debates about the broadcaster's future direction.
