Governor Kathy Hochul has assigned Attorney General Letitia James to oversee the Cornell gang-rape investigation. This decision follows the 2024 determination not to prosecute, as revealed in recently unlocked documents. The documents contain Jane Doe's story from text messages. The governor ordered the attorney general to supervise the investigation, citing the requirement for a comprehensive review.
