A cold front is pushing up Australia's east coast. It is bringing rough weather to southeast Queensland, including the Gold Coast, on October 5, 2026. Large hail, strong winds, and thunderstorms are all expected.

The weather pattern is developing rapidly, and conditions could worsen before midday. Residents across the Gold Coast and surrounding suburbs are being urged to get ready now.

Australian news outlets called the conditions severe. Large hail can damage vehicles and rooftops, and damaging winds may knock out power across wide areas. Residents should monitor official weather updates and take steps to protect their property before the storms reach the area.
