Hurricane Lowell hit Hawaii's western islands on Saturday, Sept. 12. The storm brought destruction on Kauai. Officials there asked visitors to avoid the island while the island recovers. The governor of Hawaii sought President Trump for federal assistance. The Hawaii National Guard members assisted with meal distributions in Kauai communities after the storm's damage.
