Hundreds of mourners came together at St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who was killed in a collision while on duty. She was posthumously awarded honours at the service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective became emotional in the witness box while giving evidence about the discovery of victims. The scene drew a reaction from those present. Separately, hundreds came to Bondi Beach for a vigil marking three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The gathering stood in solidarity as the occasion was marked across the city.
