Nathan Buckley has stepped away from the North Melbourne head coaching position, which will be filled by Jaymie Graham after he crossed from Fremantle. Buckley's departure from contention has shifted attention to two other clubs.

Brisbane is now mentioned alongside Buckley as a candidate to step in for outgoing coach Chris Fagan. Carlton has also been connected to the former Collingwood premiership coach, with reports pointing to him as a possible target during the trade period.
